Long Profile Text Bug

Description

Problem

  • When text without spaces is entered into the user profile that would be wider than the page width the text breaks to the next line

  • This request came out of a bug found when updating the width of elements when redesigning for agg stats

Done Criteria

  • When text without spaces is entered into the user profile “about” section that would be wider than the page width, the texts wraps from line to line as opposed to overflowing off the side of the page.

Test Strategy

  1. Create a new DSA account on dev

  2. Access “profile” page.

  3. Verify the link next to patient name displays “in account” as opposed to the former “inaccount”.

  4. “Edit” the profile page

  5. Type a 257 character description under “Anything you would like to share?” and verify error message “ please keep ‘about’ text under 256 characters.” along with the counter numbers displaying in red.

  6. Type a 256 character description under “Anything you would like to share?” and verify success. Also verify the text wraps instead of flowing off the page.

  7. Resize the window 1000 pixels (width) to ensure that the Description will continue to properly break and not change the structure of the page layout.

  8. Resize the window 500 pixels (width) to ensure that the Description will continue to properly break and not change the structure of the page layout.

  9. Resize the window 330 pixels (width) to ensure that the Description will continue to properly break and not change the structure of the page layout.
